Ceramics and digital media. I am currently researching the alienation of labour in our society and it's impact on the contemporary art field. As we become ever distanced from the act of labour behind the production of everyday commodities, we find ourselves in the art world distancing ourselves from the act of making, often commissioning craftspeople or using new technologies to create work. I am interested in the impact this has on how we relate to art and archives.
Working on a digital novel set at night and investigating how technology can blend prose and multimedia elements to intensify the reader͛s experience of the narrative at a sensory level - e.g. how can page lighting and photography stimulate deep engagement with the essence of characters͛' consciousness during different phases of the night? Getting obsessed with orange sodium lights.
