MRes in Creative Practices research students aim to connect, create, contribute. We come from a range of disciplines such as painting, photography, creative writing, sculpture and art history. We reflect on our place in the world and wider concerns through academic enquiry, referencing social, historical, cultural and theoretical discourses and traditions as we do so. Our creative practice demonstrates real engagement with ideas and concepts we are immersed in throughout the year, and culminates in our multidisciplinary graduate show in September 2016.

I am currently researching the alienation of labour in our society and it's impact on the contemporary art field. As we become ever distanced from the act of labour behind the production of everyday commodities, we find ourselves in the art world distancing ourselves from the act of making, often commissioning craftspeople or using new technologies to create work. I am interested in the impact this has on how we relate to art and archives.
