MRes in Creative Practices research students aim to connect, create, contribute. We come from a range of disciplines such as painting, photography, creative writing, sculpture and art history. We reflect on our place in the world and wider concerns through academic enquiry, referencing social, historical, cultural and theoretical discourses and traditions as we do so. Our creative practice demonstrates real engagement with ideas and concepts we are immersed in throughout the year, and culminates in our multidisciplinary graduate show in September 2016.

I will be considering secular alternative perspectives as possible solutions to religious tension and division with particular geographic/cultural reference to the cities of Derry and Belfast. Some of this account may be autoethnographically reflected in my own family history.
I will be focusing on the post peace agreement (1998) period, examining the current state after the formal end of 'The Troubles'.
