MRes in Creative Practices research students aim to connect, create, contribute. We come from a range of disciplines such as painting, photography, creative writing, sculpture and art history. We reflect on our place in the world and wider concerns through academic enquiry, referencing social, historical, cultural and theoretical discourses and traditions as we do so. Our creative practice demonstrates real engagement with ideas and concepts we are immersed in throughout the year, and culminates in our multidisciplinary graduate show in September 2016.

My current research and practical work is exploring the links between intentional everyday rituals, agency and sustained wellbeing.
Are these creative acts of agency a key ingredient for wellbeing? Not grand in their proclamations but a sure, continued presence of intentionality. Are they an unrecognised move towards the utopian dream of life as art?
Other research interests include narratology in contemporary art and the illusion of choice in modern society.
